PopCap’s Plants vs. Zombies has set a record for a new iPhone app launch in its first nine days of availability. The new game has sold over 300,000 units in less than ten days on the App Store, topping the units and revenue charts within 24 hours of its launch. In less than ten days, the game has already grossed over $1 million….
Sony: PSP Go confused buyers, costs too much

SCEA Publisher Relations Senior VP Rob Dyer in a recent interview admitted that Sony has struggled since the launch of the PSP Go. He noted that the company’s approach to making download-only games has served to “confuse” gamers and that Sony will have to communicate more with buyers to get significant adoption. A large amount of this information is expected this year….
V-MODA outs new in-ear headphones for iPhone, MacBooks

V-MODA expanded its lines today Remote Remix in-ear headphones. The earbuds are designed for use with the iPhone 3GS and more recent iPod and MacBook models. The Remote Remix headphones incorporate a microphone for hands-free calling, and a three button in-line control for music playback and VoiceOver or Voice Control functions. They can be used with other devices and MP3 players that have a 3.5mm audio jack, though with limited functionality….
Apple reveals 10 billionth song winner

Although having already announced 10 billion iTunes song downloads as of Wednesday, Apple has only now revealed the winner of the connected contest. The claimant is Louie Sulcer of Woodstock, Georgia, who won by buying the Johnny Cash song “Guess Things Happen That Way.” For pushing iTunes to the 10 billionth download, Sulcer will be getting a $10,000 iTunes gift card….
Nintendo DSi LL due for US in March, gets e-books

Nintendo today at its self-run Summit provided US launch details for the DSi LL. The handheld will reach stores on March 28th and will undercut the Japanese version with a $190 price. It will have the same dual 4.2-inch screens and larger stylus and should initially come in burgundy red and bronze colors….
‘Explicit’ category coming to App Store?

Apple is about to add an “Explicit” category of software to the App Store, says one developer. The option is said to have recently appeared in iTunes Connect, the system developers use to track and submit iPhone and iPod apps. Particularly as no apps on sale are known to use the label, Apple could be arranging a system which makes “adult” apps once again available, but in some way harder to access for minors….
